LUVIZETOHello there07:12
Vroomfondlehi07:12
LUVIZETOHi Vroom!07:13
Vroomfondleit's been a bit dead here lately07:13
LUVIZETODoes anyone know where can I download the old Ingres 2.5 database software?07:13
LUVIZETOhahaha I can imagine that vroom07:14
VroomfondleI doubt 2.5 is available online these days07:14
pboroLUVIZETO, what on earth would you do with 2.5? :D07:14
Vroomfondleassuming you have a licence, your best bet is probably Ingres support07:14
Vroomfondlemaybe they can hook you up07:14
LUVIZETOI am running an old application on a Ingres 2 + Open Road 4.  I already tried to run it on the newest plataform but it didnt work07:15
LUVIZETOIngres 2.5 is now free and Ingres doesnt give support to that anymore07:16
LUVIZETOpboro....the company that I work sold an application which runs on Ingres 2.0 + Openroad  14 years ago.07:17
LUVIZETONow, I am going to virtualize that machine and my idea is to upgrade the Ingres version from 2.0 to 2.5.07:18
pboroWhy to 2.5? Why not something more recent?07:20
pboroSince you're going to have to do some work to make it work on 2.5 anyway -- why not use that work to make it work on recent releases? :)07:20
LUVIZETOAccording to my research...... the Open Road 4 only runs togheter to Ingres 2.5 (maximum)07:21
pboroah, okay, figures :)07:21
LUVIZETOand We do not want to spend much development effort in porting it to OpenRoad 200607:22
pboroyup07:22
LUVIZETOanyway..... i am going crazy trying to find it07:23

grantchi LUVIZETO, the only way you would get Ingres 2.5 is, as Vroomfondle says, you have a support contract. Even then I'm not 100% certain as that release has long past it's drop dead support date08:12
LUVIZETOthanks grantc.08:40
LUVIZETOWe dont have a valid support contrat with Ingres anymore. So, in this case I will keep my system running in the same way (Ingres 2.0 + OR 4.0)08:42
