DarylMAlex|:  Perhaps now ;-)14:10
Alex|ah, hey :)14:11
Alex|I'm fighting with Ingres on 64-Bit SLES10 and I am running into a problem when it tries to compile the abf stuff14:12
pborowhat's the prob?14:13
Alex|message is only "mkdir -p    missing operand", can't really see where the source of the problem is14:13
Alex|in front/abf/abfrts14:14
DarylMLoL.  You really mean compiling Ingres itself!14:14
Alex|indeed I do :)14:14
DarylMI don't see a mkdir in abfrts.  I just forced a recompile and I only got gcc;cp;chmod;rm14:17
DarylMI use this command to compile debug.  It also dumps out the actual commands it is executing (BTW I hate jam)14:17
DarylMjam -sIIOPTIM=-g -q -dx14:17
DarylMGot a meeting in a few, afk for a bit.14:18
Alex|ah, the -dx might help, didn't know about that one.14:20
DarylMHumm,  meeting cancelled14:23
Alex|now I get undefined references to `__sync_add_and_fetch_8' with lp32/libdmf.a... didn't even do anything for the mkdir problem yet14:34
DarylMSigh.  I really don't like the compile environment.  Very difficult to debug.  Usually when I start getting really weird stuff like that I14:37
DarylMjam clean14:37
DarylMsvn status14:38
DarylMand make sure everything is really compiling from scratch14:38
DarylMI have seen cases where I could not explain how the compile got confused, but a clean start seems to usually work.14:38
Alex|yeah, I might have to do that again... I was jumping from error to error and more or less cleaned everytime14:39
DarylMpain in the b*** I know.14:39
DarylMI >>always<< use the -dx flag14:39
Alex|the actual problem was that I have a version that runs on SLES11 but not on SLES10 - the installer says floating point exception which might be caused by different libstdc++, glibc or whatever14:40
Alex|so now I try and compile it with sles10 without much success so far14:40
Alex|-dx gives me the warnings/errors only, not the command that is run14:46
DarylMFT-Jam 2.5.2. OS=MACOSX. (C) 1993-2003 Christopher Seiwald, see www.freetype.org/jam/14:54
DarylM-dx     Display (a)actions (c)causes (d)dependencies14:56
DarylM        (m)make tree (x)commands (0-9) debug levels.14:56
Alex|I think this has boost-jam, maybe that's different14:59
Alex|there it is -d 1-1315:05
DarylMI have not had much luck building Ingres with anything other than ftjam.  I recommend you switch to that.15:06
DarylMand see if it makes a difference15:06
Alex|probably the best I can do... I do use ftjam on my gentoo box. Boost-jam was there so I took that one15:07
DarylMgood luck :-)15:09
DarylMI'm in the central US so I usually see stuff here during those working hours.15:09
